So here I am, a little more than halfway through my Jenny Craig experience. So far, so good. I

I’m having a rough time fitting in exercise actually. I recently hurt my ankle, so my usual go to exercise is out of the question for a while. I need new ideas! I’ll be reading the comments looking for those.

  • Stephanie

As much as I would love to get up early in the morning to get my exercise done and over with is not happening then, I just can’t bring myself to get up any earlier. So I exercise after my daughter is in bed. I pop in my BL Bob yoga dvd in my daughters portable dvd player and place that by the tv so I can do the dvd and watch tv at the same time. After the dvd I follow that up with a little light weight workout. As for staying motivated, I keep telling myself the weight will not come of if I don’t keep moving!!

Congrats on the lose so far! Keep it up!

I find that the days I’m most motivated to workout are the days that my husband volunteers to go out and walk, jog, or run with me. It’s a great hour (or so) together, and he’s a great distraction, especially when he runs in front of me :)

  • Lauren T

I’ve never been “fit” no matter how much or little I weighed so I’m trying to get to the gym more so I can be in overall better health for my boys. I’m going to start going to work out at the Y when I take DS1 to preschool there.

Dieting I have a hard time with, I’m a chocolate addict and could live off of brownies.

  • Mami2jcn

I get motivated by having some good tunes on my iPod. I like to sing along (or mouth the words) while I’m working out.

  • Jacki

Exercise is still a struggle, but I like to take my daughters for walks while the weather is still nice (we live way up north:)

  • jamie

Great music or conversation helps me. I also sometimes will tell myself to just try it for 15 and see how I feel after…sometimes I quit sometimes not.

  • Christine

I drop my daughter off at middle school every morning and then I run and/or walk around the track at her school. Having the exercise built into my routine really helps. Huge motivation for me: not the number on the scale, but how my clothes fit.

    GREAT COMPANY.

I am trying to get more exercise but I also have a bad back and cannot walk very far so I am trying to watch what i eat and hope to adopt new methods. I sure could use the $100 though to buy more fruits and vegetables. Thanks for the chance to win! connie danielson

Good music is honestly my best motivation to exercise. Although it’s starting to get cold out…. so we’ll see. Food journal helps me a lot too.

  • Erin Rok

My motivating factor is to look at all the clothes in my closet that I fit BEFORE I had my baby, and that does the trick!

  • Janice Cooper

Exercise can be a struggle for as well. Fortunately, my hubby keeps me motivated. He is good at his daily exercise routine. In fact we just had this conversation this morning about me doing walking exercises indoors since the weather is changing.

  • Janice Cooper

I can exercise by myself but it is so much nicer to go out with a friend or to go for a walk with my husband. I like having a “partner” with me. Though losing weight is for myself.

  • Amanda Sakovitz

I motivate myself by keeping an old pair of jeans that used to fit me and i also know i will feel better after i work out

Our main exercise is walking. For “motivation” we walk to a small market and but fresh produce and fixings for that evening’s dinner.

Since being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in July, I’ve lost 37 pounds by totally changing my lifestyle and my mindset. I eat very healthy, have cut the carbs and sugar and get moving. There’s no ifs, ands or buts, that’s my motivation. Live long and be a grandma one day :)

  • lyndsey

it’s hard to get motivated to go out and exercise, so when i do, it’s to think about how good i’ll look in a bikini!

  • http://utry.it Amy Tong

I motivate myself to go out there to exercise by giving myself a little treat at the end of the month. Such as buying a top or a dress I’ve been wanted. That works like a charm. :)

My daughter loves being outside so that motivates me to exercise. I put her in her stroller and we walk through the park by my house. I’m also motivated to exercise so I can fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes.

I just love to work out. I feel icky when I don’t. But on those rare days when that’s not enough motivation for me I have: my health, managing my stress, and the way I look to give me that extra push. Thanks for the opportunity!

My biggest motivation for getting out and moving is my camera. I love to take photography and will walk and stoop and crouch and crawl for hours to get that special shot. All of that movement, while slow, adds up. I am also an avid environmentalist and have found a lot of great exercise in eco-walking (picking up trash and recyclables during neighborhood walks).

I find it VERY hard to exercise! Best excercise I get is in the garden and going up and down the stairs in our house! We love ATVing, fishing, golf, skiing, etc. but don’t do any of it as much as we’d like to!

I have begun to take a daily walk it can be hard to fit into my busy schedule but it is important that I make time.

  • Christine burd

I envision what my garden will look like when fixed up and then I feel motivated to make it happen and get outside and start gardening . In the winter months I keep my treadmill facing the front window so that I can enjoy the scenery while exercising.

  • Maria

I work out with a partner so it is fun.

  • Brittany Vasquez

I have trouble getting myself motivated to workout, my best time to workout is at night when everyone is asleep and I’m done eating for the day so I wont be putting anything extra in my body after I workout. Motivating myself is hard, I usually read stories of other women losing tons of weight and it makes me want to work hard so I can be one of those stories.

I dont exercise like I should. I’m making small changes to improve my health.

I try to motivate myself to exercise but it’s hard for me at the moment (I’m having a total knee replacement next month). I will try to do my Wii Fit on the weekends, and ride my recumbent bike 15 minutes a day.

I think that my biggest motivator has been some deaths in my family, if I want to live long and prosper, I must take care of my body.

  • Daniel Thornton, Jr.

I force myself not to think about it. I bring out my ipod and zone out any lazy thoughts before getting started. Once I’m off, It’s not too much trouble to stay motivated throughout an hour or two.. but it’s initiating that’s always the hardest for me. Keep your eye on the prize! Keep up the good work also!

Sometimes I feel like I am too tired to exercise, but then I remind myself that I can just start my workout, and allow myself to stop at any time if I really don’t feel into it. I end up going through my whole workout about 98% of the time just by giving myself that option.
